As for the "tiny" apartment, I bet I've got you beat. I once had the smallest of efficiency apartments (the kind that had a 2-burner stove and jr.-fridge). At 23, I decided that I needed to invest in my GrownUp life. I bought a dining room table, futon sofa, and a coffee table, then stuck in my 13" TV and computer. You could hardly walk inside the place.
I loved it though; it was mine. You have much more space and the furniture looks great!
